All is set for the Zorah West launch, a new clothing label courtesy of businesswoman Sharon James of Style CabinZw, which specialises in furniture and interior design.

The launch is this Saturday at Cafe Espresso in Avondale and will run under the theme “African Elegance Ingenuity” in a bid to promote the African culture and identity.

James told The Herald Arts that she was happy to pursue her dream of owning a clothing label.

“I have always had a thing for creative industry and my first love was fashion which I interchanged with some music experience before venturing into furniture design with Style CabinZw.

“I am happy to be venturing into clothing design full time with Zorah West and I will be officially launching the fashion house this Saturday in Avondale, Harare.”

The new venture will see the fashionista  unveiling a new clothing range that celebrates Africanness.

“Zorah West is bringing a whole new dimension of local fashion through infusing both African and Western feel,” said James.

“Zorah West will be selling both stock and designer clothes  and the launch is set to announce our arrival and unveiling of our unique clothing designs.”

James, who was recently named in the 50 under 30 emerging leaders class of 2021 by constancy company Gumiguru, said she was bringing self pride and a taste of class through her clothing range.

“Our hope is to bring a proudly Zimbabwean cum African feel through fashion with a global appeal that can compete with other clothing labels across the world.”

Some of the speakers to grace the launch of the clothing house include fashion consultant Florence Rupapa of Trend-Zone Defined Wear and attorney and entrepreneur Arthur Marara.

Guest of honour is celebrated businessman and Nash Paints Group chairman Tinashe Mutarisi, who is expected to officially unveil the new fashion house, with soulful musician Mwenje Mathole providing entertainment.

A number of established business people, fashionistas and socialites are expected to grace the launch.

James, who is involved in a number of charity activities through her Women’s Cabin, said she will also use the fashion house venture to empower fellow women.
