During the forum, Peru emphasized the importance of strengthening regional integration and cooperation with China to promote inclusive and sustainable modernization across the region.
In the opening session, Economic Affairs Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Jorge Felix Rubio, stated that the forum reflects the commitment of regional integration mechanisms to strengthening relations between Latin America and China, as well as promoting multilateralism, high-quality cooperation, and shared development.
The diplomat indicated that Latin America and the Caribbean are going through a key moment to rethink their development strategies with a more inclusive and sustainable approach.
In that regard, he emphasized that such academic forums allow for strengthening trade relations, attracting new investments, and diversifying the region's economies.
Likewise, Rubio emphasized that China is one of the main economic partners of both Peru and Latin America, and that the forum contributes to consolidating regulatory frameworks that facilitate trade, promote technological exchange, and foster balanced and mutually beneficial development.
Lastly, the Director General reaffirmed that Peru has historically been a strong advocate of regional integration, convinced that dialogue, cooperation, and mutual learning are key tools for achieving people-centered sustainable development.
